THE HOUSE WITH A CLOCK IN ITS WALLS Commentary Track (A Big-Ass Pumpkin Day Extravaganza)

Just when you thought it was safe to crack open a gourd, scoop out its insides, and carve your choice of expression into its helpless flesh, Big-Ass Pumpkin Day is here again! The BOP mantra has always been "when all else fails, do quality," so this year we're partying along with 2018's way-better-than-it-has-to-be The House With A Clock In Its Walls. The pumpkin juice is flowing and the Malort is conspicuously absent as we talk about this modern kid's classic directed by absolutely no one at all, hitting on the film's amazing cinematography by an industry legend, the book's heavier percentage of Axe Murderer Content, the fragile balance between jokes for kids and jokes for everyone, and the oeuvre of Jack Black's many beards. We also make fun of Eli Roth for about four minutes straight, this IS BAPD after all.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, SCOOBY-DOO! Commentary Track (A Big-Ass Pumpkin Day Extravaganza)

You walk out onto an unfamiliar street, your legs doing the thinking for you. The chill steals the last remnants of warmth from your breath, turning it to a cool mist before your eyes. It's dark, as dark as it gets, but even so there are shadows, long and threatening, cast by nothing at all. As it strikes you how improbable that is, you hear the children, unseen but approaching, the clatter of their hurried footsteps nearly drowning out their endless, maddening chant: "Come on, Scooby, where you been? Trouble's on the loose again." It is Big-Ass Pumpkin Day, and no God or demon can deliver you from the jaws of celebration. So why don'tcha pop on the BOP Crew's commentary for this season's surprise gem, Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo? Join Mike, Cody, and the rest as they uncover the secrets of Einstein's Fridge, marvel at the lengths a kid's cartoon will go to to keep Elvira dirty, and curse the name of the most arch Scarecrow to never interact with Batman. Has the creator of The Grim Adventures Of Billy & Mandy done the unthinkable and directed the perfect Scooby-Doo movie? Is Daphne the secret MVP of Mystery, Inc? Are Velma and Bill Nye the power couple America needs? Does anyone remember that SCOOB came out this year? Well you better find out soon, because the children have arrived, and they are carrying you off to the burning woods on the outskirts of town. Wait, there aren't woods on the outskirts of your town, those are... NO... NOOOOOO! They are singing a new chant now. They are chanting their master's name. And in the darkness, It declares this a Big-Ass, Big-Ass Pumpkin Day indeed...

THE PUMPKIN KARVER Commentary Track (A Big-Ass Pumpkin Day Extravaganza)

Get out your knife and a really big spoon, because it's the only day of the year the BOP Crew looks forward to more than Halloween: The Great Gourdening, Dia de los Calabaza itself, Big-Ass Pumpkin Day! And to properly prepare for the festivities, we suggest you put on a slasher so obscure it makes you think "Wow, Amy Weber and Minka Kelly are really slumming it," THE PUMPKIN KARVER! Mix together this year's BAPD Cocktail, and listen to Cody, Mike, and Jamie get lost in the dangerous world of expert pumpkin carving.  Then grab your own pump', cut a full circle around the top, leaving plenty of room for scooping. Once the ole' orange-boy is hollow, draw your desired Jack-O onto the gourd with a a black marker, and carefully remove the desired pieces in a gentle, see-saw motion. Just don't carve with any evil in your heart! But also don't be afraid to go crazy, Jack's a versatile dude!  Around this time, the Crew should be lost in a terrifying alternate reality where the pumpkins have come to take back what's their's. Set your new friend on the couch next to you, down a good swig of that BOPtail that's been gathering dust. After this, absolutely nothing will matter and you'll be in the perfect mindset for Karver's respectable FX budget and dedication to patch-based horror. Take another sip.  Ahh. It truly was a Big-Ass, Big-Ass Pumpkin Day.

THE HALLOWEEN TREE Commentary Track (A Big-Ass Pumpkin Day Extravaganza)

They say when The BOP Crew recorded this audio commentary for THE HALLOWEEN TREE, all the soda pop bottles in the world fizzled over. They could tell dumber jokes, analysis film better, AND eat more popcorn. Box Office Pulp, the greatest movie podcast that ever lived! According to their mother's. That whimsy aside, I don't know about you, but I smell pumpkin in the air, along with a tinge of last year's candy corn. 'Tis the season with the most reason! And to kick it off, it's our favorite of all make-believe holidays: Big-Ass Pumpkin Day! As every year, we celebrate with an appropriate jack-o-lantern-y flick, and this time, it's the aforementioned Cartoon Network adaptation of Ray Bradbury's classic trip through Samhain's past!

When Good Ghouls Go Bad Commentary Track (A Big-Ass Pumpkin Day Celebration!)

Spit out your candy corn and put down your carving knives, because it's that time of year again! No, not that time of year! The other time of year, where the mighty Pumpkin lords over all that encounter it! It's another festive installment of (Big Ass) Big Ass Pumpkin Day, and the BOP crew once again has you covered for all things spooky and ooky. Perhaps even kooky? Madness, you may say, but the film we're watching this year represents everything that BAPD symbolizes: fake mummies, the titular giant pumpkins, and of course, a zombified Christopher Lloyd! It's The Big Ass Pumpkin Day presentation of the FOX Family original movie, WHEN GOOD GHOULS GO BAD. Featuring a live pumpkin carving by Cody! We're not joking. He... he really did that.

JACK-O Commentary Track (A Big-Ass Pumpkin Day Celebration)

The smell of pumpkin-spice everything is in the air, the leaves are changing color, and Big-Ass Pumpkin Day celebrations are blooming nationwide! (Well, maybe not that last one, but we’re working on it.) To kick off BAPD 2015, the Box Office Pulp crew provided a live commentary on the torturous 1995 monster movie JACK-O. Boasting an IMDb score of 2.7, you know it has to be good! (No. No it’s not.) But to save our sanities, we used the time to develop a much better movie. Can you say “post-apocalyptic world populated by Jason Voorhees' and clans of final girls”?

Join the seasonal festivities by downloading the commentary right here!
