HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS

With studios less sure how to reach audiences by the day, only one film has the answer to what people truly want: HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS. In the newest movie from Mike Cheslik and the team behind Lake Michigan Monster bring us a new descent into whimsy and madness in a film so ridiculous, we're convinced it stars Cody. Join Mike and Jamie as they talk about this delirious swirl of live action cartoon, silent(ish) movie, harrowing survival tale, XXX-ed jugs ,and 16-bit farming sim (not kidding), HUB might be the most creative movie of the year, the funniest movie were seen in ages, and without a doubt the best movie ever made on the subject of man's battle against mascot suits.

SPEEDardy!

Surprise test, hothead! Just when the BOP crew thought they could enjoy some much-needed R&R, they're pulled away from their vacation to stop a madman threatening to destroy everything we hold dear: their co-host! Welcome to SPEEDARDY, the game show where the velocity is made up and the pedestrians don't matter, organized by Quizmaster Cody to test the limits of his friends' knowledge of the Jan de Bont crowd-pleaser... if only they had actually watched the movie beforehand. Will Mike get the girl, or will it be Jamie who discovers how few relationships based on intense experiences ever work out? Will we learn why Willem Dafoe needs a bathtub of leeches to fight off his Computer Sickness? Will ANY of this actually circle back to the 1994 blockbuster Speed?! Probably not.

Mini BOP - X

After toiling in the lucrative salt mines of television for the last few years, Ti West has returned to film with his most unique-- and haunting-- film yet, with the A24-produced geezersploitation slasher X. Listen as Cody and Jamie discuss how well West's slow-burn approach to horror fits this tale of a 70's porno shoot gone wrong, the star-making double performance from Mia Goth, and just how terrifying the elderly truly are despite years of Cocoon propaganda.

THE NIGHT SITTER

As we bury the holiday season in the dirt where it belongs, why not end things with a bang by taking a look at a new seasonal horror gem? From directors-in-crime Abiel Bruhn and John Rocco comes The Night Sitter, a crowd-funded comedy about a boy and his babysitter trapped in a house with suitors, high people, and evil old women who feed off the death of innocence. So, the usual Christmas experience. But behind the familiar trappings lies a red-and-green throwback to the supernatural Giallos of old, with Elyse Dufour leading a memorable cast of newcomers through a night of scheming ghost hunter wannabes, demonically possessed thots, and the best trio of witches since the Sanderson Sisters, in a story that's as endearing as it is scary-- and absolutely friggin' hilarious.

You Can't Kill The Gummer: TREMORS 5 & 6

So it's come to this. Jamie and Cody are reaching the end of their trek through the life of Burt Gummer, and have seen the mustache man's most terrifying foe yet: IP cash-ins. On its penultimate episode, You Can't Kill The Gummer looks at the two movies that brought back the graboids for a new generation, for better or worse, 2015's Tremors 5: Bloodlines and 2018's Tremors: A Cold Day In Hell. The first entries in the franchise without the involvement of Stampede Entertainment, are these Jamie Kennedy-centric fahter-and-son survivalist bonding adventures worthy of the legacy of worm-explodin' that came before them? No.

You Can't Kill The Gummer: TREMORS 4: THE LEGEND BEGINS

Sit around this campfire, podcast listener, and we shall tell you a tale. A tale of greed, and deception, and unstoppable will. A tale of a young country growing out of stolen soil, and the blood that watered it. And sandworms. It's Tremors, we're talking about Tremors again, it's another Tremors episode. Tremors 4: The Legend Begins, to be exact! Join Silver Tycoon Cody and Schoolmarm Jamie as they explore the last entry in the series to involve original co-creator S.S. Wilson, a Weird Western prequel that's as out-of-left-field as finales get, but also... might have the most to say out of the whole lot? We're just as surprised as you are, honestly.

A word of advice, listener: Any link can be downloaded from, and if you can, do. Download the episode, I mean. This is the link.

You Can't Kill The Gummer: TREMORS 3: BACK TO PERFECTION

Much like Frosty The Snowman and the star power of Bradley Cooper, graboids never stay gone for too long, and You Can't Kill The Gummer is back with a look at Tremors 3: Back To Perfection. After five long years, we return to Burt and his home of Perfection, Nevada, a festering hellhole of false cowboys, shady real estate schemes, and more sandworm-themed tourist traps than Frank Herbert's home town.
How does this return to form for the series stack up against the form it was returning from? Join Cody, Jamie, and The Endangered Ass-Blasters Of America as they put entirely too much thought into the answer!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, SCOOBY-DOO! Commentary Track (A Big-Ass Pumpkin Day Extravaganza)

You walk out onto an unfamiliar street, your legs doing the thinking for you. The chill steals the last remnants of warmth from your breath, turning it to a cool mist before your eyes. It's dark, as dark as it gets, but even so there are shadows, long and threatening, cast by nothing at all. As it strikes you how improbable that is, you hear the children, unseen but approaching, the clatter of their hurried footsteps nearly drowning out their endless, maddening chant: "Come on, Scooby, where you been? Trouble's on the loose again." It is Big-Ass Pumpkin Day, and no God or demon can deliver you from the jaws of celebration. So why don'tcha pop on the BOP Crew's commentary for this season's surprise gem, Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo? Join Mike, Cody, and the rest as they uncover the secrets of Einstein's Fridge, marvel at the lengths a kid's cartoon will go to to keep Elvira dirty, and curse the name of the most arch Scarecrow to never interact with Batman. Has the creator of The Grim Adventures Of Billy & Mandy done the unthinkable and directed the perfect Scooby-Doo movie? Is Daphne the secret MVP of Mystery, Inc? Are Velma and Bill Nye the power couple America needs? Does anyone remember that SCOOB came out this year? Well you better find out soon, because the children have arrived, and they are carrying you off to the burning woods on the outskirts of town. Wait, there aren't woods on the outskirts of your town, those are... NO... NOOOOOO! They are singing a new chant now. They are chanting their master's name. And in the darkness, It declares this a Big-Ass, Big-Ass Pumpkin Day indeed...

You Can't Kill The Gummer: TERMORS 2: AFTERSHOCKS

Fetch your combustible RC cars and Graboids™ arcade cabinet, because this retrospective on the Tremors sequels has finally reached its first Tremors sequel! This week Cody and Jamie are revisiting Tremors 2: Aftershocks, the 1996 follow-up that brings half the cast, a quarter of the budget, but three times the Fred Ward. Could this hold the dubious honor of the greatest DTV sequel of all time? What the hell is going on with Graboid physiology? And how does the fall of the Soviet Union play into the origin story of the greatest monster hunter to ever live... in Nevada? I don't know, I just write the descriptions.

I AM COMPLETELY OUT OF DOWNLOAD LINKS. EXCEPT THIS ONE. TREMORS QUOTES REALLY DON'T WORK FOR THESE.

You Can't Kill The Gummer: TREMORS

During these trying times the auto commercials tell us we're having, everyone's looking for comfort food. So while Mike wages a private war with his internet provider, Cody and Jamie are digging into one of the few things from their childhoods that have weathered all life's thrown at them and come out still kicking: The Tremors franchise, mainlined by one of the longest-running monster hunters in film, Burt Gummer. Welcome to You Can't Kill The Gummer. the podcast where nobody owns a helicopter! Leading up to the release of seventh (!) entry in the series, they're revisiting each chapter in the Graboid saga, starting with the cult classic that drifted through theaters in January of 1990, but caused a VHS revolution a few months later. Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward as adorable Action Buddies, one of the best creature designs of the 90's, and Michael Gross chewing the scenery with country singer/sitcom star Reba McEntire? Best movie ever. Best movie ever.

John Carter (Of Mars) - LOVE THE BOMBS

Mars ain't no place to set a movie. In fact, it's cold as hell. This is a lesson Andrew Stanton would learn in 2012 when the release of his dream project, a mega-budget adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' massively influential John Carter novels, was met with spectacular apathy from critics and audiences alike. Released a month before The Avengers, this mocap-heavy sci-fi/fantasy/western was going to kick off the next great Disney franchise, but inexperience, bad timing, and one of the most ill-advised marketing campaigns in recent memory doomed it to the scrap heap. A shame, since it's one of the most charming and lovingly-crafted adventure flicks of the last decade. In this edition of How I Learned To Love The Bombs, we detail how a Pixar director with no live-action experience rescued John Carter from 80 years of Development Hell, the trilogy and more we almost got from a team with three Oscars and a Pulitzer between them, Lynn Collins' turn as the 2010's most unsung action heroine, and how this movie is one Ocean Master away from just being Aquaman.

THE PUMPKIN KARVER Commentary Track (A Big-Ass Pumpkin Day Extravaganza)

Get out your knife and a really big spoon, because it's the only day of the year the BOP Crew looks forward to more than Halloween: The Great Gourdening, Dia de los Calabaza itself, Big-Ass Pumpkin Day! And to properly prepare for the festivities, we suggest you put on a slasher so obscure it makes you think "Wow, Amy Weber and Minka Kelly are really slumming it," THE PUMPKIN KARVER! Mix together this year's BAPD Cocktail, and listen to Cody, Mike, and Jamie get lost in the dangerous world of expert pumpkin carving.  Then grab your own pump', cut a full circle around the top, leaving plenty of room for scooping. Once the ole' orange-boy is hollow, draw your desired Jack-O onto the gourd with a a black marker, and carefully remove the desired pieces in a gentle, see-saw motion. Just don't carve with any evil in your heart! But also don't be afraid to go crazy, Jack's a versatile dude!  Around this time, the Crew should be lost in a terrifying alternate reality where the pumpkins have come to take back what's their's. Set your new friend on the couch next to you, down a good swig of that BOPtail that's been gathering dust. After this, absolutely nothing will matter and you'll be in the perfect mindset for Karver's respectable FX budget and dedication to patch-based horror. Take another sip.  Ahh. It truly was a Big-Ass, Big-Ass Pumpkin Day.

Mini BOP - VENOM

The nineties were a grand ole' time if you were a geeky kid. An era ruled by a wise and fair Macho King, all your favorite characters co-existed in ice cream form, and an invasion of bigger, badder, and extrem-ier anti-heroes hit comics like a flaming-hot meteor, and cooled off just as quickly. Over thirty years since his creation, VENOM has not only outlived the trends that birthed him, but thrived -- much to the chagrin of the same readers who were his first fans. In Eddie Brock's film debut (we don't talk about Spider-Man 3), Ruben Fleischer and co. have not only paid shockingly faithful tribute to the nerd world's #1 problematic fave, they've chucked the macho doom-and-gloom for an upbeat romp about a boy and his blob. So why all the hate? In this Mini BOP, Symbiotic Experts Mike and Jamie weigh in on fans' curious relationship with the character, the one-of-a-kind tone that sets it apart from a sub-genre aching for experimentation, where this ranks in the annals of Weird Tom Hardy Performances, and how Venom is 100% a queer romantic-comedy. CHANGE OUR MINDS.

ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN Commentary Track

You've seen The Crew go head-to-glove with Freddy Krueger. You've seen them say n-o to Jack-O,  and chase Pumpkinhead back to Lance Henrickson's shack with his pumpkintail between his pumpkinlegs! But now they face off against cinema's most terrifying creatures... Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, the original Vaudevillian Villains! In yet another BOP 'n A Movie rock 'em and sock 'em punch-out involving things which go bump in the night and/or snarl a lot, we survey the only surviving record of three hapless monsters who left the old country in search of the American dream, and found only a nightmare. A nightmare of sight gags, prat-falls, and wacky chase scenes! It's the movie that invented the horror-comedy as we know it, contains perhaps Bela Lugosi's strongest performance as a creature of the night, the dawn of Glenn Strange's tenure as the titular Monster, and feels as fun and witty today as it was in 1948! Many a horror-nerd hold this film near and dear, us included, so we're busting out the popcorn (and a special mad science-y concoction of booze!) to dig deep in dissecting some cinematic history and raise this feature commentary for ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN from the dead!

Tales From The BOP: HELLBOY (2019)

There are movies that suck in the summer, dear listener, make no mistake... and we are the ones who suck back. That statement did not come out right at all, but unlike this episode's subject, we stick to our guns all the way down. That's right, BOP's very own Senior Hellboy Aficionado Cody went to see Neil Marshall's studio-hijacked 2019 reboot/prequel/spin-off/Cinematic-Universe-Creation-Kit, and after several weeks of reflection felt up to the task of running us down each and every footnote-burdened sequence. Listen as Cody The Homunculus guides us through a twisting labyrinth of flashbacks, character introductions, location changes, needle-drops, and lobsters Johnson, all to please a fan-base that would've preferred it if they'd just stuck with the other guy. Is this Hellboy just a bunch of cosplaying actors reading Wikipedia articles aloud to the camera over their director's muffled sobs, or is there value to be found in this maligned production? The first one. Definitely the first one. It's a bad movie, don't watch it. But do grab yourself a brew and a king-sized Baby Ruth, and listen to us spin another bone-chilling Tale From The BOP!

BOPardy!

Move over, Trebek! We don't need you OR your lousy mustache! Or lousy clean shaven face. Or lousy beard. Or whatever you have these days. Bees, perhaps? Who knows, we're under the age of 70 and don't watch your show. The important thing is, Cody has wrestled hosting duties away from you and re-branded everyone's favorite prime time game show into... BOPardy! And things run less than smoothly because of it. We're throwing out world history and replacing it with movie trivia! Or something. I don't know, Cody got weird with it, and there was improv, and Dracula, and a lot of screaming. Look, Mike and Jamie were tortured to the point they nearly quit the show, so if you want to see friends TORN APART while duking it out for fake money, then get your daily double (two shots Jack recommended) and join the BOP Crew as they descend into game show hell in this very special edition episode!

COME ON DOWN, and be the next contestant to download the show here!
